About the event
Kickstart your summer with a Beekeeping Adventure and have a buzzing good time! It doesn't matter if you're a first year Beekeeper or studying about the importance of Honeybees. We've got you covered!
There are TWO bee sessions to select from:
May 9th for Ages 4 to 13 = Enjoy a 1 hour outdoor presentation, where students can inspect a real life Honeybee Hive and taste honey right off the comb!
May 10th for Ages 14 and up = Enjoy a 3 hour outdoor introduction course which covers everything from Honeybee Behaviors, required equipment, to setting up your first hive! Finish the day applying classroom information in our Bee yard.
Times will vary. First session of the day will begin at 11 AM sharp and the rest will follow. We cannot guarantee a time frame as they are first come, first serve.
COST:
MAY 9th for Ages 4 to 13 = $40 per child. Price includes 1 child and 1 parent and/or guardian. ONE parent is required in order to participate. Parents- please do NOT buy a ticket for yourself. For instance, if you have 4 kids, just purchase 4 bee tickets. Your party will consist of 1 adult and 4 kids. Please indicate the participating parents name at check out. Only one parent or guardian per family is allowed due to limited space.
MAY 10th for Ages 14+ = $55 per person. There is a 2 ticket minimum if the child is under the age of 18 as 1 parent is required to participate. Adults are welcome and even encouraged to participate! There are no parent/guardian limits with ages 14+ as it's geared towards adults or anyone interested in learning about bees in more depth.

IMPORTANT NOTES PRIOR TO SUBMITTING PAYMENT:
Tickets are NOT refundable; however, they may be transferred to another individual by a certain date.
Participants must be between the ages of 4 and 13 to attend Session One on May 9th.
Participants must be ages of 14 and up to attend Session Two on May 10th.
Due to limited space, only 1 parent is allowed to participate in the first session geared towards ages 4 to 13. Additional parents and/or younger nonparticipating members are welcome, but must wait in their AC vehicles while class is in session. We will work on a gathering place for those waiting closer to the event.
Ticket sales will close on April 16th, unless they sell out before then.
This event is not recommended to anyone with known bee allergies. Participate at your own risk. A release and waiver form is required.

SUFS SCHOLARSHIPS AND/OR GRANTS:
Many of you have asked if our field trips and/or events are eligible for reimbursements. While some group members were able to receive refunds for select trips and events, we cannot make any guarantees. SUFS processes reimbursement requests on a case by case basis. If you need a formal invoice statement to use for your scholarship or grant, please email us directly once you've purchased your tickets. These are generated manually after each event or field trip has completed.
